In the episode "Hell Followed", Happy killed Mayan President Marcus Alvarez's son, Esai Alvarez, as payback for the Mayans attempted hits on Clay and Ernest Darby. After he was chased by Ezekiel Reyes, he assumed it was a member of a Cartel's clean-up crew and no longer felt safe as a Nomad, so he patched into SAMCRO for personal safety.
